The Face of Ambiguity Necklace is inspired by the primitive drawings of figures that depicted gods who were worshipped throughout Irish history. While there are many sculptures and drawings in ancient history that are quite obviously figurative, there are several Irish carvings that have been declared as ambiguous representations of human figures. Bodies have been depicted using lozenge and arc shapes, while face-like designs have been carved using a combination of spirals, lozenges and arcs. In the past it was believed that these carvings were evidence of worship towards an anthropomorphic goddess, but the drawings were too ambiguous to draw final conclusions. However, it leaves the question: what did the gods that these people worship look like, and how close to human were they?
