The Ceremony of Light Earrings are inspired by the events that take place on the winter solstice at Newgrange in Ireland. The Neolithic people of the time built a passage and chamber to align with the rising sun on winter solstice. The sun travels the whole way down the passage, to light up the chamber. The Ceremony of Light Earrings embody the light that passes through the chamber at winter solstice before it shines on the back wall. The chain is a symbol of the rays of light, and the golden casting to which it is attached, signifies the megalithic stone being illuminated by the sun's rays.
